Agency life

Celebrating two years of Brew

Date 22.06.2021

Over two years ago we began on a journey… A journey to completely rebrand our agency. Why? Because Connecting Element (CE) no longer felt like the right fit. It just didn’t represent the agency we’d become or planned to be in the future, so we decided to make a change… Now, June 2021 sees us celebrating two years of Brew!

Relatively speaking, two years isn’t that long a time. I mean, Jonathan, A.K.A. a tortoise, and the longest known living land animal, is 189 years old; two years to that guy would be a (slow) walk in the park.

Side note: If it seems like we have tortoises on the brain, it might be because Matt, our client services director, just adopted a pet tortoise called Norman and he’s the adorable. Look…

I digress… but with everything that’s happened in the world over the past couple of years, it’s hard to think back to a time before this new normal we’ve found ourselves living in.

Being a digital marketing agency, supporting mainly hospitality clients, this pandemic has been challenging. As we start to emerge on the other side, we thought our second birthday would be the perfect opportunity to look back at the main events and highlights in our world.

Since becoming Brew, we have:

  • Launched our sleek, new website
  • Moved to Digbeth (and out again)
  • Developed 25+ engaging, sales-driving websites
  • Planned, designed, and wrote 100s of social posts
  • Held two luxury influencer events for Miller & Carter
  • Said goodbye to a few beloved team members and welcomed new experts to the team
  • Kept ourselves sane and successful through multiple lockdowns
  • Found ourselves a new hub in St Paul’s Square (although we’re all working from home now)
  • Began creating our bespoke web platform, Brew.web, which is set to revolutionise website development.

… and much more.

We couldn’t have done any of this without our amazing team and wanted to know more about their personal highlights, how things have changed for them over the past couple of years, and what they’re looking forward to most for the future of our agency.

Here’s a bit on what they had to say…

Highlights since becoming Brew…

We’re lucky enough to work with some amazing hospitality brands, one of those being Miller & Carter. Just before the country went into lockdown, a few of our team visited one of their restaurants for a premium photoshoot. This was a highlight for one of our designers who had recently joined our team. Showcasing our brands in the best way possible is something that we love to do – it’s our passion and we can’t wait to get back to doing what we do best, in person!

We’re also fortunate enough to have welcomed a broad range of clients over the past couple of years. From hospitality and automotive to education and more – our agency has not only survived a pandemic, but we’ve come through the other side stronger than ever. This is testament to the hard work and dedication of our team, as well as the support and loyalty of our suppliers and clients.

As well as diversifying our client base, we’ve been able to refine our own niche like never before. Web development is more of a focus for our digital agency than it ever has been, and we’re excited to build on this focus and take things to the next level.

What has changed most over the past two years?

The most notable change for the team as a whole would be that we’re now all working from home. It’s not completely alien to us, as way back when, many of the original team did work remotely. Sure, like everyone else, we were forced into it because of the pandemic, but we’re also loving the flexibility it gives each of us.

We’ve adapted and created systems that work, but of course, there will still be times when we’ll want to meet with clients, hold team meetings in person, or just fancy a change of scenery. For those days, we have our hub in the Jewellery Quarter’s St Paul’s Square.

Not only that, but as an agency, we’ve grown in confidence. We know where our strengths lie and are focused on excelling in those areas. Positioning our brand correctly and honing in on our teams’ website capabilities is something that we have been and will be doing much more of going forward.

What we’re looking forward to most over the next two years…

The most frequent answer? Brew.web.

We’ve been dropping hints and teasing information over the past few months, and we can’t wait until we’re in a position to share our cutting-edge website development platform with the world.

So much time, passion, and expertise go into our agency products – from conception to roll-out, and Brew.web will change the way businesses buy and maintain their websites for years to come. After coming onboard, you’ll never need another website again.

As you can see, it’s been a busy couple of years and there’s no signs of us slowing down! Want to learn more about Brew.web and everything we can do for your brand, from website development to digital marketing? Get in touch.
